From strep to ink.

*********************************************************************************

The last two and a half weeks have been a real bear to get through. It started with a virus which was suspected of being an upper respiratory type, and that eventually cleared up for a few hours before strep decided to grasp hold of my throat. After a weekend of misery, I saw little choice but to head to the emergency room of my local hospital. Good thing I did as I was able to get immediate help and meds instead of the super slow process of an urgent care or regular Dr visit, which would have taken many days to schedule or arrive at. After the hospital visit, I went on antibiotics and started to feel better in a few days. The sore throat and mouth/gums were hell and I have never had such a sickness, ever. Horrible.

Yep, this is how I felt. So, lots of Lidocaine, meds and Tylenol 3. In four days, I was feeling a lot better and finally able to eat something more than fluids. Also lost seven pounds during the last two weeks of this. Ugh.

Finally , it seems to be over and I'm on the way to recovery. I have not been able to run in over two weeks. THAT is a sad thing for me indeed.
Perhaps today I can remedy this. :-)

On Valentines Day, I went to to see my tattoo artist extraordinaire, Doug Auld, for a new addition to my leg. With me was my sweetheart, Dena, and her desire for an Om symbol on her ankle. These were super fast and high quality tattoos inked and how happy we are for the results. I bet the Om only took ten minutes and my Celtic knot only seven at most. Cannot get better than good, high quality ink work in a fraction of the time some of these clowns would take. Thanks, Doug!!!

Here is the Om symbol on her ankle and the Celtic knot on my ankle as well.
It was fun being able to share these inky reminders of a great Valentines Day!
